For Berlin residents to get a library card, they must present identification (driver’s license, mail, deeds etc.) with their name and address, showing residency in Berlin, East Berlin or Kensington.

Children may apply for a card and have a parent’s signature on their application form. Parents are responsible for any fines of lost or damaged items. In addition, parents are responsible for the selection and use of all library materials chosen by their children, whether they are used in the library or in their home. 

Library cards are renewed for free every three years.

If a library card is lost or needs to be replaced there is a $1.00 fee.
