Samuel was the 2nd child of Benjamin and Betsy/Betsey [Savage] Wilcox. He married 1st Eliza Ann; married 2nd Anna. He was a teacher, general store owner and opened a tinware establishment - Carpenter, Lamb and Wilcox. Samuel was a Congregatonalist. A child died 15 MAY 1842/3 at age 4 months; another died 28 AUG 1844/5 at age 1 year. He died at age 74 years.
