Lived at 57 Hotchkiss St., Kensington. He moved from New Britain to Berlin about 1855; bought lot from Hart Manufacturing Company. Newton was a brass founder. During 1854 and 1855 he was a Berlin Selectman. He was a member of Harmony Lodge of Masons during 1850. During 1860 census he was 42 years old and a manufacturer.
