Baptized at Kensington Congregational Church. On 31 MAY 1840 he was recommended to and from Yale College. On 18 OCT 1863 he was appointed delegate to Consociation, Rocky Hill; 02 JAN 1864 Church School Secretary; 03 JUN 1864 appointed delegate to a Council, Centre Church in New Britain; and 30 DEC 1864 chosen Clerk at annual meeting.
During 1860 he was 38 and a teacher.
