During 1860 census he was 27 and a blacksmith. On August 6, 1854 he was baptized as an adult and became a member of the Kensington Congregational Church. His name is listed as James Welz Belden on one catalog card, as James B. in Hale cemetery records.
Civil War veteran, flag, stone and marker at his grave. Died at age 30 or 31 in Charleston, S.C., exact date unknown, a prisoner on the way home from Andersonville, GA. |
