Shirley lived in Berlin the last 44 years of her life. She worked at Southern New England Telephone Company. She was later employed at the Berlin Public Health Nursing Service and the Berlin Public School System. She was a parishioner of St. Paul Church, Kensington; a past president of the Berlin Mother's Club; active in school affairs and involved with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Shirley died at age 66 at New Britain General Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents. She was survived by her husband, Thomas F. Cosgrove; two sons, Thomas F. Cosgrove, Jr. and his wife, Catherine of New Britain, and Timothy W. Cosgrove and his wife, Marianne of Madison; and her daughter, Michele [Cosgrove] Harris of New Britain; and four grandchildren, Kelly Harris, Zachary, Barrett and Griffin Cosgrove. Calling Hours were at Farrell Funeral Home, New Britain; Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul Church, Kensington. Memorial donations to George Bray Cancer Center, New Britain General Hospital.
