Cassie died at age 78 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. She had been living in New Britain. She was predeceased by her husband, William "Midget" Otis Allen, Sr. and a son, Frederick Clyde Allen. She had attended local schools and was employed by Fafnir Bearing, New Britain for 35 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of New Bethel Fire Baptized Holiness Church. She was survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William O. Allen, Jr. and his wife Sandra of New Britain; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy L. and Raymond Smith of Farmington, and Marilyn Allen of New Britain; a brother, Jacob Yopp of Hebron; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and calling hours were held at Porter's Funeral Home in Kensington. Memorial donations to Wm. O. Allen Scholarship Fund, c/o TD Banknorth, New Britain.
