John lived on Warner Rd., Kensington. He had been a "life-long resident of New Britain". He had been employed by Stanley Works in New Britain for 35 years, retiring in 1985. He served in the Pacific Theater during WW II. He was a member of Varpas Club in New Britain. John died at the Newington Veteran's Hospital. Survivors included his wife, Evelyn; a daughter, Judith Gallnot of New Britain; two sisters, Mary Zink and Helen Savulis, both of New Britain; two granddaughters, Lorie Hebert of New Britain and Dawn Caron of Kensington; two great-grandsons, Robert Yorski and Justin Hebert and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and calling hours were at Francis Funeral Home, Kensington. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Paul's Church, Kensington. Burial was with military honors at Maple Cemetery. Pall bearers were Michael Pozniak, Daniel Hebert, Robert Yorski, Daniel Caron, Vincent Savulis, Jr., and Albert Gallnot.
