Irene died at age 74 at New Britain General Hospital. She was a graduate of Berlin High School and had been employed by Stanley Tool Company, New Britain until retiring in 1951. She had been a volunteer at Waterbury Hospital. Irene was a member of St. Paul Church. She was survived by her husband; a daughter, Linda Colella of Bristol; three sisters, Josephine Colella of Middletown, Rose Masse of New Britain, and Esther Zanardi of Chester; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services and Calling Hours were held at Porter's Funeral Home, Kensington; Funeral Liturgy at St. Paul's Church. Memorial donations to American Cancer Society.
