Donald died at age 58 at Hartford Hospital after a long illness. He lived at Old Farms Place. He was a Berlin resident for 21 years and was co-owner of Howard Asal Construction Company of New Britain until his retirement.
He was survived by his wife, Beverly and their two sons, David and Jonathan, both at home. He was also survived by three brothers and their wives, Howard J. Asal, Jr. and his wife, Margaret M., Ronald W. Asal, Sr. and his wife, Margaret G., and Robert L. Asal, Sr. and his wife Marilyn F. all of Berlin; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.
Memorial Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in East Berlin. Burial at the convenience of the family. No calling hours. Memorial donations to charity of donor's choice.
