"On the corner next south of the schoolhouse lived Samuel Bishop, who was a house painter . . .
Many large old cherry trees in his yard and people came from far and near . . . to gather fruit from those trees . . . the old house was torn down long since." -- North. History of Berlin. This house wsa the 25th building from the north end of Worthington Ridge in 1825-35. Later at 1801 Wilbur Cross Hwy. (this property was deeded to his son, Samuel, Jr.) His name is recorded as a Berlin resident in a Berlin account book on April 20, 1793.
He died at the age of 91.
