He came to Berlin from England with his brother-in-law, the Reverend Evan Johns, who was called to the pulpit of the Second Congregational Church [Berlin Congregational Church], their wives were sisters. The two families lived together in a house at 1022 Worthington Ridge. The Bolderos evidently supposed they were coming to live in the wilderness when they came to this country and brought chest upon chest of clothing "enough to last a lifetime." Mrs. Boldero wore a pink silk petticoat to church and a blue silk long shawl. She favored a few young ladies in the village and occasionally invited them for tea. They joined the Berlin Congregational Church 1861-1862.
Mr. Boldero was the youngest son of the Reverend John Boldero of Ampton, Suffolk, England. He emigrated in 1801, died at the age of 72 (73 in Hale cemetery records.)
