Freeman in Farmington 1668. One of 84 proprietors of that town. Setled in part of Farmington called Kensington and became a leader of the settlement. There the Seymour Fort was built, within which were cabins where inhabitants sought refuge at night from Indians. Richard was Captain of the garrison. The well in front of the fort still remains. Richard was killed by a falling tree and buried on his own land. |
