Name spelled Bronson in some records, Brownson in Hale cemetery records.
In 1750 Elisha Brownson was a "rate maker" for the Kensington Congregational Church -- Berlin records, p. 400. At the same meeting it was voted that he "take due care of stray sheep in ffarmington [sic] part of the Society--Berlin records, p. 401.
"A complaint . . . By Deacon Joseph Porter against Elisha Brownson for the sin of Drunkenness " Berlin records, p. 22 [the church voted in the affirmative to suspend "from special privileges till he gives gospel satisfaction."] Church meeting, November 27, 1766.
Died at age 67.
