Lifelong Berlin resident and longtime member of the Berlin Congregational Church. She served the church on the Mission Society and was the secretary of the Women's Federation. She was a member of the Berlin Historical Society and the Connecticut Humane Society. She donated land to the Berlin Land Trust. She was predeceased by her sister, Anna, with whom she shared the family Homestead on the Wilbur Cross Parkway. She was known to her many friends as "Fern."
The 1932 city directory lists her occupation as a teacher, but she was employed by New Departure for many years, retiring in 1973. She is survived by a several cousins, including JoAnne Bergeron of Willimantic.
Memorial donations were directed to the Berlin Congregational Church where a memorial service was held. |
