He and his wife, Lydia, were members of the original Christian Lane Church, later the Kensington Congregational Church. He was on the committee to "supply pulpit" i.e. obtain a pastor.
His date of death is given in a catalog card note, in Hale Cemetery Records (copied in 1934) the stone was obliterated. Age of death is given as 66. On the same card his name is given as "Ensign Jobe" Cole.
