Murdered by Indians in 1721 while plowing his field in the vicinity of the Almshouse. Indians were concealed in Ambush on Harris Plain. Joseph came from New Britain and originally had seat in 5th pew of First Church of New Britain. He was a member of Christian Lane Church. BPLH Card Notes indicate that he was appointed Town Collector in DEC 1720. |
