Baptized at Kensington Congregatinal Church. She married first Erastus Washburn and they had 4 children; married 2nd a Mr. Carr. After death of 1st husband she moved to Middlebury, VT and married 2nd husband there. Laura was Matron of a school, probably Emma Hart Willard's second school. Emma Hart Willard was her 4th cousin. When Emma's first school failed, she opened a second in 1814. Laura later returned to Farmington, CT and later died there.
