He was married in the Kensington Congregational Church and his children were baptized there. He and his wife "owned Communion" in the church from 1756 (recorded in church records on April 16, 1769.) During this period he is listed in records as a resident of Wallingford and later, in 1781, he and his wife were residents of New Lebanon, N.Y.
A veteran of the Revolutionary War, he enlisted in Capt. John Couch's company which was organized in Meriden and was a Corporal. He was called out in the Lexington Alarm and served during the early years of the Revolutioin.
