John Deming, an early settler of Wethersfield, ca 1635, is the immigrant ancestor of most of the persons bearing his family name according to the Deming genealogy. He had a home in 1641, a barn and five acres of land in Wethersfield bounded by High St. on the west, the Great Meadow, east. Dates of his birth and marriage and death are not known. The last recorded act of his public life is his signature on a codicil to his will signed on Feb. 3, 1692.
The records of the dates of birth and names of his children are also not found in public record, but he probably had 10 children see the Deming genealogy for more complete information than is possible to record here.
