Baptized in the Kensington Congregational Church. "He was a manufacturer in Kensington. In early life he was in business with his father, under the firm name of R. Moore & Sons, who were the first to make and successfully introduce hydraulic cement as an article of commerce into the markets of the country". [ Beers, p. 411 ] Wired the Wooding Bothers building and equipped the factory with new and valuable machinery to manufacture suspender trimmings of a variety of patterns. He was a Postmaster. He served as Berlin Selectman in 1832 and 1838 - 1839. He died at age 75 years,
