Native of Wales. Received education in England. Came to Berlin in 1801. He was installed as 2nd Minister of Berlin Congregational Church on 09 JUN 1802 and was dismissed on 13 FEB 1811(some say due to an uncontrollable temper). Joint housekeeping with Edmund Boldero family at 1022 Worthington Ridge. The wives of Edmund Boldero and Rev. Evans were sisters. Rev. Johns later became the pastor of 1st Congregational Church in Canandaiqua, NY from 1815-1822. Conflicting information as to whether he remained in Berlin until his death in 1839 or died in Canandaiqua, NY in 1849 at age 86 years.
